Originally developed in 2011 with big plans to be a gated country club type atmosphere Lakewilde eventually went bankrupt due to the economic crash of 2008 and alas the grandiose plans never materialized. Fast forward to 2021, 10 years later and the neighborhood is gaining steam once more. With individual lots being sold by owners who purchased them from the original developer new life has been given to what is sure to be a wonderful community. Sitting on the lakefront of beautiful Lake Marion in Santee SC, in a little town called Elloree SC this is a semi-gated waterfront community with new builders offering homes. Eventually, as the community is built out and the lots are sold and homes are on every piece of property an HOA would presumably be formed. As of now, there is none, as once planned.
