Welcome to 228 St James Street in downtown historic Georgetown . This period home has had restoration started. This is a very different property for downtown due to the fact that it may be an 18th century home that has been dated incorrectly. There are clues that suggest that the home may be much older due to some molding and woodwork in the older section and ballast brick chimney and more. Be aware that this home would need to come before the Georgetown Architectural Review Board for any exterior changes. This will be a full restoration needing new plumbing, wiring and more, but does offer a buyer the opportunity to save what could be a very significant structure within the historic district. The sitting room is the room that you enter into. In this order section you will also find 2 bedrooms, a sun porch, and a dining room. In the newer section , you have a full bath, laundry room, and a large kitchen and den. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. To the south of Georgetown, Charleston offers an International Airport as does Myrtle Beach to the north of Georgetown, where Georgetown offers a private airport.
