ABOUT DANIEL ISLAND

There are essentially about 8 different sub-section communities on Daniel Island, but truthfully the lifestyle is pretty much all the same with the exception of the Park side of the island (the luxury club side). There has been recently been a lot of rental development started or completed, but up until then apartments were few and far between. Daniel Island is about 10% more in price point than that of its neighboring community of Mount Pleasant. All owners & buyers have to pay a $900 a year HOA fee for the upkeep of the 3 swimming pools, 10+ miles of walking trails, 7 parks, 4 play grounds, and numerous ponds that adorn the island. Along with a .5 of 1% of the purchase price capital contribution fee (but no more than $6300) at closing one time. 

Since the real estate for sale on Daniel Island is relatively expensive comparatively to the rest of Charleston condos have their place for buyers, however there are currently only a few condo developments on the island and one of them is a luxury waterfront condominium mid-rise development on the “Park side” called The Oaks at Riversedge

 

DANIEL ISLAND PARK

The “Park side” more well known as Daniel Island Park is home to the two award winning golf courses, the private membership club, restaurant, the fitness center, the two private swimming pools (with slides), boat launch ramps, tennis courts, and more. Living in Daniel Island Park vs the other side costs $2000 a year for the costs of the amenities, plus additional fees for usage of the boat ramps. The memberships levels to the club are a different additional cost with three different levels: Social, Sports, and Golf.  This is where all the homes on the golf courses will be.
