The houses in the “Bird’s Nest” neighborhood would most certainly have to be on a raised foundation given that you’re on a small barrier island with water on both sides. While that sounds great to prospective real estate property buyers, one would be wise to shop for insurance before going under contract. This is one of the older beachfront communities of Pawley’s Island SC with some homes built as far back as the 1930s with as new as 2018. The end of the island peninsula of Bird’s Nest oceanfront community features a large beach, with a parking lot for guests of the public beach to enjoy while homeowners have their own beach access. Homes for sale in Bird’s Nest do not come up very often because owners have had these homes for so long most would be paid for, and inherited family second homes. Not all houses on Bird’s Nest Pawley’s Island would have water on both sides, it really depends on where on Springs Ave in the community your home is situated, because the wider parts of the island have two streets.
