UNDERSTANDING CONDO OWNERSHIP

A “high-rise” is most commonly recognized as an apartment like building with attached single family homes that are 7 stories or higher, and anything from 6 to 3 stories is considered a “mid-rise”, while everything else would be low-rise. 

If you’re considering purchasing a condo for personal use or for investment there are a lot of things you must understand before getting into it. Unlike buying a house that is detached condo or townhouse ownership differs in many ways. You’ll have to be part of an HOA (homeowners association) where you split the costs, liability, and responsibilities of the entire building development with all the other owners (known as the HOA).
